Violin & Co. is the new home of JC Strings, a collaboration between two lifelong musicians and craftsmen. Our founders, Cezar Mateus and Joseph Melillo, have a long friendship based on their shared passion for music and fine instruments. They established JC Strings with the promise to provide finely tuned, high quality orchestral stringed instruments for all levels of musicians.

Although our name has changed, our promise has not.

We will continue to provide high quality instruments to students and professionals alike while serving our community with the highest degree of dedication.

Our shop is led by master luthier Cezar Mateus, European trained, with over 25 years of full time experience and international recognition. Cezar has been providing custom instruments for some of the world's greatest performers for many years. Through relationships with several manufacturers throughout Europe, Asia, and America we have a unique opportunity to expand our sales and rentals to a broader market.

All of our instruments are professionally adjusted in our shop to exacting specifications, using European and American strings (Thomastik, Pirastro, Larsen, D'Addario) and hand cut bridges from Germany (Bausch) and France (Despiau, Aubert).

We cater to all string players' needs – young players, advanced students, and accomplished professionals. We take great pride in our craftsmanship, from expert restoration of antique instruments to everyday maintenance such as bow re-hairing and sound adjustments.
